Her medical journey began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology (study of the principles of mechanics and anatomy) from the University of Michigan in 1991. In 1995 she received her MD from the Medical School at Wayne State University. Following medical school, she spent 1996 in a transitional year at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. From there she started her residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit, finishing in 1999. Additional credentials include, Medical Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation at Garden City Hospital in Michigan, and a member of the American Academy of PM&R (physical medicine and rehabilitation) of which she is board certified in PM&R.
