Functional Recovery Program (FRP) - A Pain Rehabilitation Program
The Functional Recovery Program (FRP) is a nationally recognized, state-of-the-art pain rehabilitation program. Founded in 1989, the Functional Recovery Program is one of only two programs of its kind in Michigan and one of only 90 nationwide. This interdisciplinary treatment program has helped thousands take control of their pain, regain their pre-injury lifestyle, discontinue damaging medication treatment, avoid surgery and return to healthy, productive lives.
If you’re experiencing disabling chronic pain lasting more than three months even if you have undergone surgery, are requiring narcotic medication and other treatments, you may benefit from the comprehensive interdisciplinary treatment offered through the Functional Recovery Program.
FRP candidates must be 18 years of age or older and complete a three-step admission assessment, which includes an evaluation by the FRP medical director, a psychological screening with the FRP neuro-rehabilitation psychologist, and a pre-admission team conference to discuss treatment recommendations and determine the individuals interest in pursuing admission.
Contact the Functional Recovery Program or make appointment directly with Dr. Ellenberg at (248) 893-3200 to schedule an evaluation and check on insurance coverage. Referrals are accepted from patients, physicians, nurse case managers, or insurance adjusters.
