About Us

Established in 1967, Rehabilitation Physicians, PC specializes in diagnosing and treating painful and disabling conditions without invasive surgery. Our board certified physicians are highly trained physical medicine and rehabilitation experts and help patients relieve pain, recover from injuries, and regain function from disabilities.

We utilize a combination of advanced treatment options tailored to each patient, which may include acupuncture, physical and occupational therapy, osteopathic manipulation, medication management and injections. We are committed to continuing to discover new, innovative rehabilitation therapies.

You have found one of the largest and most established private Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) practice in Michigan. Since 1967, we have helped thousands of patients relieve pain, recover from injury and regain function from disabilities.

Our board certified and fellowship trained physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, called physiatrists, are experts in muscle, soft tissue, bone, and nerve. Through their in-depth training and medical knowledge of those systems, physiatrists help patients restore function, and manage painful conditions utilizing the most advanced treatments and therapies without surgery.

Just as no person is alike, neither is the impact of disability or pain. We are deeply committed to offering every patient a high level of attention and personal care. We will spend the time necessary with you to evaluate and explain your condition and customize a treatment plan that considers all aspects of your condition and lifestyle.

Physiatrists specialize in using a team approach to manage severe impairments such as stroke, paraplegia and amputation and in the non-surgical management of painful conditions including those that affect the spine, joints and other aspects of the musculoskeletal system. The specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians is known as physiatry. We provide patients with comprehensive care to relieve pain, recover from injury, and regain function from disabilities. As specialists, we focus on the body's musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and tendons. Physiatrists treat patients of all ages with diverse problems ranging from simple sprains to complex disorders, such as spinal cord injury. Our comprehensive care includes treating the entire patient, not just symptoms.

Physiatry, or PM&R, started in ernest after World War II, when many soldiers returned from the war with serious musculoskeletal disabilities. Recognizing the benefits of physiatry, the Advisory Board of Medical Specialties approved PM&R as a specialty of medicine in 1947.
